What this role is all about :
Reporting to the Chief Growth Officer, the VP, Small Business Banking, Advice and Sales is the business line leader responsible for building, leading, and directing the strategy for sales, service delivery, and business development activities for small / medium enterprises, while ensuring that the credit union effectively balances its goals and objectives for growth, member retention, depth of relationship, member experience / loyalty, and the profitability of its business operations.
The role is accountable for the development and delivery of strategies aimed at enhancing our relevance in the SME market, growing our portfolio of small business relationships, and achieving our corporate goals. The incumbent is accountable for the profitability of the deposit and loan portfolio, which also includes the quality of the book, the analysis and approval / recommendation of credit applications, and the achievement of high employee and member satisfaction scores.

What you'll do :
People and Organizational Leadership
Has functional leadership and oversight of Small / Medium Enterprise banking in all regions and trade areas.Provides leadership and coaching to a team of direct reports to maximize sales, member experience, business development, and operational performance.Maintains a high level of employee engagement through effective communication, regular coaching, and mentorship; accountable for the achievement of high Employee Opinion Survey results and employee retention.Develops succession plans for all key positions and ensures that personal development plans are completed and implemented for internal candidates that express a desire to advance their careers.Proactively collaborates and engages with other cross-functional leaders to jointly plan and execute enterprise-wide initiatives.Demonstrates and leads Beem values in all interactions and initiatives.Aligns, coordinates, and executes all budget-related and business planning activities for the department.Creates a collaborative environment that supports a culture of learning and development.Advice and Sales
Responsible for increasing Small / Medium business market share to achieve Beem’s overall strategy.Accountable for the identification and execution of products that deliver value to the Small / Medium Business markets.Delivers financial product advice and sales to Small / Medium Enterprise businesses to support their corporate and financial goals.Ensures all sales and service-related processes are well documented and communicated.Assesses business sales team performance, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.Maximizes revenues and controls expenses to ensure long-term profitability.Strategy Development and Execution
Acts as the subject matter expert in Small / Medium Enterprise banking, supporting organizational projects and initiatives.Contributes to all areas of operational strategy including performance and implementation.Develops and feeds into annual operating plans for business banking and oversees effective implementation and execution.Leads and directs Small / Medium business development strategies to grow our business, capture market share, and broaden awareness of Beem Credit Union.Acts as a key line of business contact for a wide range of corporate projects, initiatives, and committees.Plays a lead role in business forecasting, developing annual operating plans and budgets.Oversees Beem’s local business development initiatives with a key focus on ensuring building and sustaining an effective pipeline of lending and deposits to meet annual operating plan objectives.Supports and executes organizational strategies, effectively leading change initiatives.Considers the business landscape and outlook beyond the initiative when determining risks and their potential impact on the organization.Embraces technological advancements for stronger data-driven decision-making to make more informed decisions.Member Experience and Loyalty
Works with other leaders and staff in Small Business Banking to develop and implement a high-performance sales culture that includes the consistent delivery of a member / client first strategy.Identifies and fulfills members’ needs by resources that have the knowledge and experience to provide trusted advice and exceptional service.Proactively leads initiatives to enhance member experience, fostering loyalty and advocacy for Beem.Directs, implements, and audits member experience practices and standards within reporting teams.Addresses member concerns and complaints promptly and effectively.Identifies potential member experience issues and ensures timely implementation of solutions.Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Sales, or related field. MBA preferred.Minimum of 10 years in progressive lending and deposit services, Business Banking, and Senior level management experience, including 5 years in formal people leadership.Knowledge and sound understanding of financial statements and the impact of decision-making at the appropriate enterprise level associated with the portfolio.Proven entrepreneurial spirit with a strong networking ability.Relevant experience in business analysis with strong analytical thinking skills.Excellent business communication skills, demonstrating confidence, tact, and persuasiveness.Strong negotiation and influence skills, coupled with critical judgment abilities.Experience in leading and managing change initiatives effectively.What you'll gain :
