Set Up Technician Continental Night Shift

We currently have an exciting opportunity as a Set-Up Technician . This role is based out of our Barrie, ON Plant and reports to the Setup Supervisor.

We are seeking an energetic individual with a keen eye for detail and a positive attitude. The successful candidate will work within a team of five people with a focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Principle Accountabilities :

• Preparing / setting up injection molding machines for start-up / shut down
• Monitoring machine and part quality during running conditions to ensure smooth operation
• Collaborate with Quality department to ensure the initial product meets output criteria
• Troubleshooting during production runs
• Perform mold, tool, and material changes as directed
• Encourage and support change and / or improvement by setting the standard in setup time and methods
• Change process as necessary to optimize utilization of machine capabilities to maximize efficiency
• Follow and consistently exercise current work instructions daily
• Assist other Setup Technicians as required
• Actively participate in the 5S, SAFE, and Continuous Improvement programs

Requirements

Knowledge & Skill Requirement :

• Minimum of High School diploma or equivalent is required
• 5 + years in a previous manufacturing environment (plastic experience) is an asset
• 2+ years of experience in a Setup Technician Role with injection moulding an asset
• Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience / exposure working with Injection Molding Machines required
• Good communication skills both written and verbal
• Current forklift and overhead crane license an asset Training to be provided as needed
• Knowledge of health and safety practices in a manufacturing environment
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to work a 12-hour continental night shift 7 : 00 pm 7 : 15 am (84 hours bi-weekly)
• Week 1 work Monday, Tuesday, and Friday (36 hours)
• Week 2 work Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday (48 hours)
