Health and Safety Officer

Staffinity is currently seeking a Health and Safety coordinator for a client located in Sudbury. This is a permanent position with base salary, benefits and vacation. The base salary is 65-75k. The position works 40% in the field and 60% in the office. This is a Monday to Friday position but there might be occasional weekend work.

Responsibilities :

• Maintain statistics, records and monitors accident / incident frequencies and safety violations; assist in investigations and complete related documentation including WSIB related matters.
• Assist in the planning and startup of new projects with respect to safety issues.
• Maintain detailed training records for workers and coordinate safety-related training of workers; conduct new worker safety orientations.
• Regularly monitor safety compliance of workers; conduct site inspections and make recommendations as required.
• Ensure completion of regular inspection reports; note resolutions to any deficiencies or actions required / taken on the report.
• Create pertinent safety content, conduct and document safety meetings, toolbox talks, and health and safety informational awareness campaigns.
• Assist in the administration, documentation and management of the company safety program, JHSC.
• Keep management current on the status of any issue(s) that may impact on the work being performed.
