An opening exists in the French Division for the position of French Publishing Intern reporting to French Senior Publishing Manager.
Work Location : This position works out of our Toronto downtown office located at 604 King St. West. Expectation is that the office is this person’s primary work location, with flexibility for some days at home
Primary Responsibilities
- Translating various texts into French (novels, documentaries, picture books, advertising pamphlets, letters, catalogues and various other materials for publication)
- Checking the accuracy of the French translations
- Ensuring that graphic layouts are consistent
- Proofreading translated books
- Drafting short texts for the back cover of books or for the marketing services (catalogues) when needed
- Drafting the copyright page during the first pass and / or instructions for the graphic designers
- Checking the changes made by the graphic designers
- Creating book reports for books presented during the acquisition meetings when requested
- Digitalizing contracts
- Other duties as assigned
