As a Construction Manager you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of construction projects from inception to completion. This role involves managing project schedules, budgets, and resources while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards. The Construction Manager collaborates with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure that projects are executed efficiently and meet the required specifications.

Ensures compliance with the Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) guidelines of the Group :

  • Enforces safety and evacuation procedures, leading by example (responsible driving, wearing PPE on-site, etc.).
  • Promotes a preventive approach and ensures the health and safety of team members (RPS, working conditions, etc.).
  • Contributes to the implementation of the Action Plan, performance review, and roadmap within their scope.
  • Raises awareness among teams and ensures adherence to environmental guidelines, allocating necessary prevention resources and fostering individual accountability.

ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and manage demolition plans and schedules. This involves coordinating with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure that all aspects of the demolition are considered and planned for.
  • Ensure that all demolition activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including environmental and safety standards. This may involve obtaining necessary permits and coordinating inspections.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols to protect workers and the public. This includes conducting risk assessments, providing safety training, and ensuring that all safety equipment is used correctly.
  • Manage the allocation of resources, including labor, equipment, and materials. This involves coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure that the demolition is completed on time and within budget.
  • Oversee the daily operations on the demolition site. This includes monitoring progress, addressing any issues that arise, and ensuring that the site is maintained in a safe and orderly manner.
  • Monitor and control project costs to ensure that the demolition stays within budget. This involves tracking expenses, managing invoices, and negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between the demolition team and other stakeholders, including property owners, municipal authorities, and project managers. Effective communication is essential for addressing concerns and keeping everyone informed.
  • Maintain accurate records of all demolition activities, including permits, inspections, and compliance reports. Proper documentation is crucial for legal and regulatory purposes.
  • QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in construction management, with a focus on large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing underground construction projects, including tunnels, subways, or similar structures.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate project teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on finding practical solutions to complex construction challenges.
  • Knowledge of construction regulations and industry best practices, with a commitment to upholding safety standards and quality assurance.
  • PMP or other relevant certifications are preferred.
