Accounts Payable Clerk

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Richmond Hill, Ontario. In this long-term contract position, you will play a vital role in managing vendor invoicing, payment processing, and ensuring the accuracy of financial records. This opportunity is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about process improvement and detailed reconciliation.

Responsibilities :

• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies by analyzing variances and reconciling accounts for both internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage the invoicing and payment process for strategic vendors, legal invoices, property taxes, utilities, and residential utility billing services.
• Approve specific portions of weekly payment runs to ensure timely and accurate financial transactions.
• Identify and implement process improvement initiatives, including automating local vendor invoicing and enhancing dashboard efficiency.
• Prepare and deliver ad hoc reports and handle special projects as required to support operational needs.
• Completion of a university or college level education in business or a related field.
• Proven experience with data entry of invoices; prior experience managing utility invoices is an asset.
• Strong communication and organizational skills, coupled with exceptional attention to detail.
• Demonstrated curiosity and enthusiasm for learning new processes and exploring intricate details.
• Ability to effectively use technology to streamline processes and increase efficiency.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is required.
• Familiarity with systems such as Oracle Fusion or Coupa is advantageous, though not mandatory.
