Safety Manager / Trainer

Schedule / Shift : This role will work M‑F 3 : 00 pm‑11 : 30 pm or will alternate 1 week of days / 1 week of nights.
Responsibilities
- Works closely with Project Manager, supervisors, and Sustainability Services EH&S Teams to understand, support, and align safety strategy, goals, and objectives.
- Ensures compliance with client and government regulations by performing necessary inspections and reporting.
- Promotes a culture of safety by ensuring site personnel are properly trained to perform assigned duties and comply with safety, environmental, federal, state, and local regulations.
Leads all safety / ISO related activities including :
Lead incident / injury investigations.Establish / update JHAs.Ensure quarterly training and monthly SATs are complete.Track safety points and ensure team members are up to date.Complete quarterly ISO submittals.Update ISO documents as needed.Complete and submit weekly equipment reporting.Ensure pre / post trip equipment inspections are complete.Ensure all new hire onboarding and safety training (safety policies and procedures including HECP) is completed.Ensure new hire equipment training (including forklift, etc.) is completed.Coordinate new employee participation in EHS Orientation.Indirectly supervises approximately 10 to 40 full‑time operations level employees.Qualifications
Education and Experience
Education : Bachelor’s Degree (accredited) in Environmental Sciences, Accounting, Business, or related field, or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four (4) years of relevant work experience.Experience : Two (2) years of relevant work experience (in addition to education requirement).Preferred Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements
Canadian Registered Safety Professional.Certified Health and Safety Consultant.Certified Safety Professional.Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required
Supervisory and team building skills.Creative problem solving and innovative thinker.Effective and concise communication.Adept decision making.Strategic thinking.Strong leadership and relationship building skills.Self‑motivated and directed with a keen sense of urgency to deliver results.Work Environment
Require use of motor coordination with finger dexterity (e.g., keyboarding, machine operation) most of the work day.Require exert physical effort in handling objects up to 50 pounds most of the work day.Expose to physical occupational risks (e.g., cuts, burns, exposure to toxic chemicals) most of the work day.Expose to physical environment involving dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements most of the work day.Normal settings : indoor and outdoor with frequent site visits.Benefits
