Job Description
We are currently seeking an experienced Coating Inspector to oversee and inspect painting and coating activities on marine structures. This opportunity may be offered in a permanent position or long-term contract.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise painting/coating teams to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, codes, and standards.
- Ensure ITPs are completed and approved before work begins.
- Monitor work progress and recommend corrective actions as needed.
- Verify paint products prior to application.
- Oversee coating application processes (brush, roller, spray).
- Conduct required inspections: WFT, DFT, adhesion, contamination, surface profile, weather conditions, holiday test.
- Prepare inspection reports per client requirements.
- Ensure all personnel hold appropriate qualifications.
- Foster a positive work environment and proactive safety culture.
- Identify and report non-conformities.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance.
- Participate in incident investigations and safety/quality inspections.
- Manage coating documentation and records.
Required Qualifications
- AMPP Senior Certified Coatings Inspector (NACE CIP Level III) is an asset.
- Confined space training and ASP Construction card required.
- Marine coatings experience strongly preferred.
- Solid knowledge of industry standards and procedures.
- Fluent in French and English (mandatory).
