What Will You Do?
Purchasing
Coordinate with the project leads to generate internal BOM (bill of material)Update internal BOM as required / any changesReview requisitions for materials, equipment, and stockSource and obtain price quotations from vendorsNegotiate with vendorsPrepare purchase ordersCalculate the cost of orders and forward invoicesMonitor order status and expedite deliveriesMaintain purchasing files, reports, and price listsReceiving
Verify receipts of items against purchase ordersInspect deliveries for damage or defectsUnload and store received itemsUpdate inventory recordsResolve discrepancies and issues with suppliersResolve discrepancies and issues with internal design teamManage returns and exchangesMay operate equipment like forkliftsWhat Do You Bring?
At least 2 years’ experience in a similar purchasing / inventory position. Experience in a project-based production or Engineering environment is an asset.Post-secondary education in Business, Supply Chain or similar is preferred but not requiredExperience sourcing, ordering and procuring materials and negotiating with vendors is requiredExcellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skillsExcellent numeracy and mathematical skills with a proven track record of producing accurate workHighly organized and adaptable with an ability to prioritize and shift tasks to meet business needs is essentialResilient and able to work in a fast-paced and changing environmentStrong computer skills including MS Office, particularly Excel, is required. ERP and / or Project Management software experience is preferred but can be trained. Experience with AutoCAD or engineering design software is an asset.Must be able to work fully in-office. Ability to travel to project sites is an asset (Driver’s License and vehicle)Experience operating a forklift is strongly preferred. Valid forklift license is preferred
