Job description

Description : The Data Acquisition Engineer will be responsible for setting up and conductingdata acquisition using various data acquisition systems. This involves coordinating testspecimen build, setting up data acquisition systems, data processing, communicatingwith stakeholders. As part of the core responsibilities, the Data Acquisition Engineer willbe required to have a detailed understanding of the data acquisition systems andvarious transducers used and how they interact as well as CAN communication. Theability to operate and conduct data acquisition at company groundsThe successful candidate will be a process and detail-oriented individual with a provenability to lead projects from start to finish with minimal guidance. Additionally, goodcommunication and leadership skills are required to coordinate and instruct bargainingunit mechanics in performing vehicle instrumentation, part strain gauging and partchanges. Requirements : UPDATE : This req is NOT a part of the Canadian grant. The worker will be a Canadian citizen paid in Canadian dollars. But also, must possess the visa needed to meet the requirements listed below

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical / electrical / industrial / Aeronautical Engineeringrequired from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of engineering experience within a testing environmentwithin the automotive industry.
  • Experience with data acquisition equipment using various transducers includingwheel force transducers, accelerometers, load cells and strain gages.
  • Understanding of damage severity analysis and stress-life / load-life calculations.
  • Competent with the Microsoft Office Suite of products including Outlook, Excel,Word, PowerPoint, VBA.
  • Strong time management, leadership, planning and follow up skills.
  • Excellent written and oral skills.
  • Ability to support working days as well as overtime during the week andweekends on occasion.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment.
  • Will be required to drive a company car. Valid driver's license is required as wellas a clean driving record.
  • Will be required to travel domestically and internationally 10-20%.Ability to qualify for US TN visa or similar.
  • Will consider new graduates with related co-op :
  • Master's degree in mechanical / electrical / industrial / Aeronautical Engineering.
  • Previous CANBUS experience, (CANanlyzer, etc).
  • NCode, MTS RPC Pro and FlexTest experience preferred.
  • Strain gauge theory and application Additional Information / Must Have's : Team workerMotivatedAbility to learn (we don't usually get a person with the knowledge / experience, so we have to train them) 100% onsite @ ADRCAmount of travel - About six weeks a year at CPGWe will take someone with very little experience if they are the right person
