The Opportunity
Working alongside a specialty physician to manage a large portfolio of patients and provide direct support to the physician, this role will work very closely with the doctor to provide the best possible care to the patients. A Nurse that likes the challenge of working in a high volume and fast-paced clinic is ideal. A dynamic, assertive individual that has the aptitude and desire to learn new things would be ideal!
Position Description
As the Clinical Nurse Educator, you will be working at the clinic 5 days a week (Monday through Friday). The great thing about this opportunity is that you will only have to work daytime shifts during regular business hours. As the Clinical Nurse Educator, you will be responsible, but not limited to :
- Patient counselling and educating on diagnoses, treatment protocols, etc.
- Working bedside with the physician in administering treatment
- Responding to patient questions or concerns
- Prepare trays and assisting with surgical instruments for procedures
- Working with the administrative team on patient scheduling and coordination
- Conduct patient follow ups after procedures
- Oversee inventory of drugs on site to insure they are maintained in appropriate temperatures and sufficient inventory levels exist
- Receiving and storing all required medications and drugs on delivery dates
- Maintain patient charts, gather medical records and patient information to ensure up-to-date documentation on file
- Prepare orders for drugs and supplies to ensure sufficient stock at all times
- Maintain records in Accuro EMR and patient logs
- Assist with any patient support programs enrolments and investigations.
Experience
15 + years’ experience as a nurseWorking in a clinic or LTC setting would be idealQualifications
A registered RN or RPN with the College of Nurses of Ontario
Education
Completion of Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree or Diploma in NursingA registered RN or RPN with the College of Nurses of Ontario
