SAS Platform Tech Lead

Our department is responsible for ensuring Desjardins has modern, secure and accessible analysis platforms. These platforms help Desjardins be more agile in achieving its business objectives for members and clients. Our department is actively involved in upgrading our SAS platforms to the new SAS Viya version and in running the SAS Grid platforms. We’re looking for an SAS Platform Tech Lead to contribute to our modernization program to upgrade our platforms to SAS Viya. The person in this role will be responsible for migrating the existing SAS code to our new SAS Viya cloud platform while working closely with our dynamic team. The tech lead for the SAS Viya platform will work closely with business sectors and other delivery team members to ensure a smooth transition.

Responsibilities

• Analyze the existing SAS code and assess the feasibility of the migration to SAS Viya according to best practices specific to modernization projects, with the goal of continuous improvement.
• Analyze, develop and mitigate the current SAS programs based on the modernization project’s needs and specifications to meet business requirements.
• Assess the impacts of changes on other existing applications, tools and systems, and recommend solutions.
• Help develop rigorous test strategies to ensure the quality and reliability of SAS Viya applications.
• Estimate development activities and improve the migration process to suggest improvements for maximizing the efficiency of the end-to-end migration process.
• Serve as a resource person for colleagues on the use and improvement of tools, as well as the application and updating of best practices.
• Ensure full documentation of SAS applications that will be migrated and the related processes.
• Provide technical assistance to end users during the transition to SAS Viya.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• A minimum of six years of relevant experience in SAS administration
• Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
• Experience with SAS Viya on the Azure cloud platform
• Advanced proficiency in written and spoken French
• DevOps expertise in infrastructure as code (IaC), preferably with Terraform and Ansible tools
• Knowledge of the GitHub and/or Azure DevOps ecosystem (rest, pipeline, etc.)
• Knowledge of SAS, Control-M and Crontab schedulers
• Knowledge of Python programming
• Knowledge of Bash scripts
• Knowledge of Agile practices
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, specifically Azure
• Action oriented, Customer Focus, Differences, Nimble learning, Plans and aligns, Tech savvy
