About the Opportunity

Under the direction of the Assistant Manager with Maintenance and Operations, the successful candidate will carry out repairs, troubleshoot and maintain all plumbing, heating, pneumatic equipment and systems as well as the installation of new systems and equipment.  Responsible for preventative maintenance functions on such equipment.

About You

  • Grade 12 / GED required.
  • Nova Scotia Labour and Workforce Development certification as a Red Seal Plumber.
  • Preference will be given to an individuals who holds a Red Seal Pipe / Steamfitter certificate.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience after obtaining journeyman’s status in the installation, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of building systems and high pressure equipment preferably in a hospital setting.
  • Ability to interact well with others.
  • Travel to other sites may be required and must have access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Willingness to participate in all training programs required to meet present and future requirements of the position.
  • Other duties as required.
  • Competencies in other languages preferred, French an asset.

Hours

  • Permanent, Full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly
  • Shift work, including evenings and weekends, is required
  • Compensation and Benefits

    27.43 - $32.65 Hourly
