EIT Electrical Engineering - Hybrid
Job Description
Mission
We are currently looking for an Electrical Engineer-In-Training (EIT) in our Atlantic region. The successful candidate should have strong interpersonal skills, experience in electrical engineering design / analysis.
This is a hybrid position based out of our St. John’s, NL office.
Primary Responsibilities
- Work within a multidisciplinary design team as a Design Engineer in training, reporting to the Project Manager
- Complete site visits to document existing conditions in both greenfield and brownfield projects
- Carry out electrical detailed design / analysis (related to general arrangements, single line diagrams, protection and control schematics, equipment / cable schedules, construction specifications, etc.)
- Prepare detailed drawing reviews and mark-ups for designers / drafters
- Complete budgetary estimates, write proposals and technical reports and studies
- Participate in formal engineering review processes
- Complete projects from kick-off through completion of Construction and Commissioning
- Industrial, Electric Utility (with focus on mining and electrical utility facilities), commercial, institutional, and government projects
- Equipment commissioning and testing
Qualifications
- University Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent related discipline
- Registered or able to register as an Engineer in Training with the Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland & Labrador (PEGNL)
- 2+ years of relevant experience
- Proven experience in site work, detailed design, project engineering and construction
- The capacity to interact within a multidisciplinary environment - an asset
- Client-focused and keen to understand their problems and recommend solutions
- An entrepreneurial spirit that will contribute to the growth of the business
