Job Title: AML & Compliance Specialist
Job Type:1-year Contract (with potential for permanent conversion)
Location: Pickering
Work Model: Hybrid – 2 days/week onsite
Our financial services client is seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable AML & Compliance Specialist to join their team on a 1-year contract, with the potential to convert to a permanent role. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the company’s compliance with Canadian privacy legislation and AML/ATF regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with federal and provincial privacy laws.
- Conduct privacy impact assessments and advise on data protection strategies.
- Maintain and update privacy policies, procedures, and training programs.
- Respond to data access requests and support regulatory or customer inspections.
- Monitor transactions for suspicious activity and report to the CAMLO as required.
- Maintain and improve AML/ATF policies in line with legal and industry standards.
- Support customer identification, due diligence, and AML/ATF risk management.
- Collaborate with internal teams on compliance training and policy development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years of experience in privacy and/or AML compliance, ideally in financial services.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian privacy laws and AML/ATF regulations, including FINTRAC guidelines.
- Experience developing or supporting privacy policies, strategies, and risk management practices.
- Certifications such as CAMS, CIPP/C, or IAPP are considered valuable assets.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with strong analytical and communication skills.
