Affirm – IT Engineer II – Queens, Prince Edward Island, Canada

Responsibilities

• Technical Strategy & Systems Design : Partner with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable, secure, and user-centric solutions, integrating SaaS platforms and identity systems.
• Automation & Integration Development : Build and maintain automations using REST APIs, Python, JavaScript / TypeScript, and workflow platforms such as Okta Workflows, Workato, and Zapier.
• AI & Emerging Technology Enablement : Leverage AI‑assisted tools to accelerate development, incident response, and documentation, experimenting with generative AI and workflow intelligence.
• Operational Reliability & Security : Enhance the reliability and resilience of critical IT services, implement monitoring, alerting, and governance practices that protect data and meet security standards.
• Incident Resolution & Root Cause Analysis : Troubleshoot technical issues, conduct root cause analyses, and deliver durable fixes to reduce operational noise and support business continuity.
• Knowledge Sharing & Collaboration : Create and maintain technical documentation, playbooks, and process diagrams; mentor teammates and foster a culture of transparency, automation, and continuous improvement.

Base pay range : $90,000 – $130,000 (covered in a total compensation package that may include equity rewards, monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits).

Remote‑first company : roles are primarily remote with occasional in‑office requirements.
