Responsibilities
As an Arrow driver you will haul wood fibre locally in B-train trailers primarily transporting wood chips as well as sawdust and hog fuel. Travel will occur on various highways throughout the Interior of BC including Hwy 1 (Coquihalla) Hwy 5 and Hwy 97.
Major Responsibilities
Oversee cargo handling load securement and equipment preparation in compliance with safe work practices applicable legislation company rules and established protocols.
Conduct pre-trip en route and post-trip inspections to ensure equipment safety roadworthiness and regulatory compliance.
Operate trucks and trailers efficiently during loading and unloading following signals from loading crews and ensuring proper vehicle and equipment positioning.
Assist with loading and unloading activities and operate loading equipment as required by the role.
Inspect mobile and loading equipment (e.g. frontend loaders) to ensure mechanical and safety systems are in good working order.
Perform periodic inspections to ensure loads are properly secured protected from the elements and tarped when required.
Report vehicle defects accidents traffic violations damage safety hazards and unsafe conditions at load unload yard or shop sites to the appropriate supervisor.
Ensure debris resulting from loading or unloading activities is cleaned up.
Maintain accurate and complete documentation including bills of lading electronic or manual logs hours of service and vehicle service or repair records in accordance with provincial and federal regulations.
Operate onboard and communication equipment including truck cab computers CB radios and telephones to communicate with dispatch supervisors and other drivers.
Provide feedback to supervisors or dispatch regarding customer concerns mechanical issues or delivery challenges.
Communicate professionally and respectfully with customers co-workers and the public at all times.
Train others as required.

You Possess
Proven ability to operate in snow and other adverse weather conditions including chaining tires when required.
Super B and mountain driving experience is considered an asset.
High School Diploma GED or equivalent.
Ability to read write and communicate effectively in English.
Valid Class 1 drivers license with MELT certification and air brake endorsement.
Clean drivers abstract.
Physically capable of lifting up to 100 lbs lifting 50 lbs overhead lifting 75 lbs to shoulder height and sitting for extended periods.
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test.
Ability to take direction follow instructions and cross-train across facility functions.
Computer literate with a basic understanding of vehicle and trailer maintenance requirements.
Strong organizational skills including task prioritization and adherence to timelines.
