Role Description

The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) is a full-time on-site position based in Elliot Lake, ON. The CAO will oversee the daily administrative operations of city governance, providing strategic leadership and ensuring the efficient delivery of municipal services. Responsibilities include implementing the council's policies and directives, managing departmental budgets, coordinating interdepartmental communication, and fostering relationships with stakeholders, council members, and the community. The CAO will also ensure compliance with municipal regulations and work to promote transparency and community engagement in decision‑making.

Qualifications

  • Leadership, Strategic Planning, and Organizational Management skills
  • Experience in Financial Management, Budgeting, and Resource Allocation
  • Knowledge of Municipal Operations, Policy Implementation, and Regulatory Compliance
  • Strong Communication, Interpersonal, and Conflict Resolution skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders
  • Relevant experience in government or public sector administration is an asset
  • Post‑secondary education in Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Professional certifications and advanced degrees in a related field are beneficial
