Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Safety Coordinator to join our team. The Safety Coordinator will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe working environment by , implementing, and monitoring safety programs and policies amongst our Canadian locations.

High travel role 50-75% of the time. Must be Bilingual in English / French

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions :

  • Conduct Accident and Incident Investigations, and OHNS reporting
  • Facilitates productive discussions among employees and management relative to safe workplace practices.
  • Identifies and implements new safety outreach and education strategies and approaches.
  • Requests and collects employee feedback and suggestions on safety procedures.
  • Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.
  • Conducts or facilitates employee training on applicable safety standards.
  • Reviews current safety training and recommends revisions, improvements, and updates.
  • Conducts safety inspections and audits.
  • Drafts inspection reports to document inspection findings.
  • Develops and implements inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspections.
  • Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.
  • Monitors compliance with safety procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

  • Must Be Bilingual in English and French
  • Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.
  • Familiar with company safety policies and applicable Canadian Occupational health and Safety Regulations (OHNS) standards.
  • Ability to conduct training.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.
  • Bachelors degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field required;
  • Five years of related experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Travel Required 50-75%
