Job description

Qualifications and Experience

The successful applicant must have or be eligible for membership in the Ministry of Education Teacher Regulation Branch, and possess:Valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate (or proof of application).Knowledge of Ministry of Education’s redesigned curriculum and core competencies.Evidence of appropriate qualifications and experience in teaching.A proven ability with assessment as and for learning strategies.Successful experience integrating local Indigenous culture and traditions into curriculum (knowledge of First Nations Principles and the Principles of Truth and Reconciliation).The ability to use a variety of teaching and learning strategies that can accommodate the learning needs of all learners in an inclusive setting.Successful experience integrating experiential and/or inquiry learning opportunities into the curriculum.Training and successful experience in teaching and supporting social and emotional learning.A proven ability to develop a positive learning environment in the classroom and evidence of strong organization and classroom management skills.A commitment to and successful experience working collaboratively in a team setting.commitment to and demonstrated experience using and integrating technology into the curriculum.The ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and the greater community.A current, valid driver’s license and ability and willingness to travel as required.Interested applicants are required to supply Resume Cover Letter Teaching Evaluations Practicum Reports Certificates & Diplomas (Bachelor of Education) Teaching Qualifications/Licenses (BC Teaching Certificate, BC TQS card) Transcripts 3 current professional references and their email addresses By applications, candidates give permission to School District No. 57 to contact any references or any past or present employers named in the application Compensation Up to $1,000 relocation allowance for teachers’ relocation from within BC; Up to $1,500 for teachers relocating from AB, SK & MB; and up to $2,000 for teachers relocating from all other provinces and out of country. Salary as per collective agreement. Current salary grid is $49,769 - $95,681. Salary is based on TQS and prior experience.
