Our Telecommunications group is currently looking to add Labourer (s) to our growing team, based in Castor, AB.
Reporting to the Foreman or Lead Hand, we are seeking experienced construction Labourers to help on underground FTTP and utility installations across Alberta. This position requires the ability to work long hours working outdoors, working as a cohesive group.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lay power cable, telecom pipe, gas pipe in trenches up to deep
- Set telecom peds, precast bases, sanding trench, moving material
- Ability to lift 50lbs
- Operate jumping-jacks, and other handheld or portable equipment
- Operate skidsteer and backhoe at times safely onsite
- Read and understand construction drawings for specific tasks given
- Complete time sheets, vehicle pre-trip inspections and other paperwork as assigned
- Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisors
Requirements
- Experience in a team-oriented construction environment
- Must have a valid Class-5 driver’s license and an acceptable drivers abstract
- Must have own vehicle to get to site
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, work outside for extended periods of time
- Must be flexible to working varying hours
- Strong team member with a positive attitude
