Reporting to the Director of Communications, Marketing, the Social Media Manager will be a key member of the GFL Marketing Team responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and execution of GFL’s social media activities.
Key Responsibilities :
Craft compelling, engaging and varied written content for all of GFL’s social media platforms, in line with the company’s brand voice
Create and manage a monthly social media content calendar aligned with GFL’s company goals
Oversee the Marketing’s Team social media workflow
Manage scheduling and deployment of all social media content
Coordinate translation of social media content
In collaboration with the GFL Digital Marketing Team, inform the strategic direction of GFL’s social media activities in line with the organization’s business goals
Explore opportunities for new features and content
Stay up-to-date with social media trends, tools, and best practices, and implement them accordingly
Collaborate with stakeholders across GFL to develop social content, including campaigns
Monitor front end activities including notifications, comments, and successful deployment to all channels
Analyze social media metrics and performance data to optimize content strategy
Assist the Director of Communications with strategic planning for GFL’s communications channels
Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies :
Bachelor’s Degree or diploma in communications, marketing, content writing or related field
3+ years of experience in a professional communications, copy writing, social media or content writing role
Proven experience in social media management or coordination
Exceptional writing, language, and proofreading skills, strong attention to detail
Clear and effective communicator
Creative, resourceful storyteller
Able to handle a fast-paced environment and work to tight deadlines
Strong sense of initiative and drive, excellent organizational skills, able to work independently or in a team
