Nasittuq supports operations across the North Warning System (NWS), a network of remote sites located throughout Canada's Arctic. What You'll Do:

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on radar systems, satellite communications equipment, RF communications systems, telecommunications infrastructure, router-based IP networks, multiplexers, and electronic support systems.

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex electronic, telecommunications, radar, and network systems to ensure maximum system reliability and operational readiness.

• Install, commission, modify, and upgrade electronics and communications equipment at North Warning System sites across the Canadian Arctic.

• Conduct system testing, verification, and commissioning activities to ensure installations meet technical specifications and implementation requirements.

• Support the maintenance of data communications, voice communications, radar systems, satellite communications equipment, AWOS equipment, and RF infrastructure.

• Analyze equipment failures, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions to improve system performance and reliability.

• Complete maintenance records, work orders, technical reports, incident reports, and equipment documentation within the NWS maintenance management system.

• Coordinate maintenance activities with Logistics Support Site personnel and the North Warning System Command Centre (NWSCC).

• Update technical drawings, site records, implementation instructions, and system documentation following equipment modifications and installations.

• Package, return, and track removed equipment and materials in accordance with logistics and asset management procedures.

• Support Facilities Maintenance Technicians and site teams with maintenance activities as required.

• Conduct safety, environmental, quality, and security inspections and audits while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

• Travel to Long Range Radar (LRR) and Short Range Radar (SRR) sites throughout the Arctic to support maintenance and operational requirements.

• Support special projects and perform additional duties as required to support the North Warning System mission.



Who You Are:

CREDENTIALS:

• Diploma in Electronics Engineering Technology, Electronics Technician, Telecommunications, Communications Technology, or Canadian Forces military equivalent.

• Eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

• Standard First Aid with CPR Certification is considered an asset.

• Valid Driver's Licence is considered an asset.



EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum two years of hands-on experience maintaining, troubleshooting, or repairing telecommunications, radar, RF, satellite communications, networking, or electronic systems.

• Experience using electronic diagnostic equipment, test instruments, and troubleshooting tools.

• Experience working in telecommunications, defence, aerospace, broadcasting, industrial electronics, networking, or remote-site operations is considered an asset.



SKILLS:

• Strong knowledge of telecommunications systems, RF communications, satellite communications, radar systems, router-based networks, and electronic equipment.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, manuals, and engineering documentation.

• Proficiency using electronic test equipment including spectrum analyzers, RF power meters, reference generators, BER test equipment, and related diagnostic tools.

• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent communication, documentation, and report-writing skills.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and make sound technical decisions.

• Ability to travel regularly to remote sites and work as part of a small team.

• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including a fall arrest harness when required.

• Ability to work in physically demanding environments and adverse Arctic weather conditions.

• Please note that employment at North Warning System is conditional upon obtaining and maintaining a Secret Level Security Clearance.
