Job description

Agriculture Sales Representative

OVERVIEW

At Stubbe’s, we don’t just work with concrete — we build with people, ideas, and purpose. For more than 40 years, our family-owned company has been a trusted name in precast, ready-mix, and cement across Ontario. Our success comes from challenging the status quo, staying true to our values, and investing in great people.

As an Agriculture Sales Representative, you’ll play a key role in growing our business in the agriculture and construction industries. You’ll look for new opportunities, connect with potential clients, and turn those connections into long-term partnerships. The right person for this role is proactive, motivated, and passionate about helping customers find the right solutions — all while representing Stubbe’s with professionalism and pride.

Having grown up or worked on a farm — or being part of a farming family — is a strong asset. It helps you truly understand our customers’ needs, speak their language, and build genuine relationships within the agricultural community.

YOUR DAY TO DAY

  • Actively look for new business by making calls, meeting people, and connecting with farmers and builders.
  • Find potential customers, figure out who’s a good fit, and keep track of your sales to hit (and beat) your goals.
  • Research the market to understand what farmers and builders need and where new opportunities are.
  • Create and share proposals or presentations that show how Stubbe’s products can help customers save time, money, or effort.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, contractors, and key decision-makers so they trust and enjoy working with you.
  • Work closely with Stubbe’s internal teams to make sure customer needs are clearly shared and every project starts smoothly.
  • Represent Stubbe’s at trade shows, meetings, and industry events to promote our products and network with new people.
  • Keep your Sales Manager updated on market trends, what competitors are doing, and any useful insights you find.
  • Offer advice and ideas on better building designs and construction methods.
  • Help Stubbe’s grow in key markets like beef, chicken, dairy, and hog farming.
  • Always look for new sales opportunities and ways to bring value to both the customer and Stubbe’s.
  • Do other tasks as needed to support the team and business goals.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

  • At least 5 years of experience selling to other businesses, ideally in the farming or construction industries.
  • A track record of finding new customers, making cold calls, and successfully closing deals.
  • Great communication skills — you know how to talk, listen, present, and negotiate effectively.
  • Strong organization and time management — you can juggle tasks and stay on top of deadlines.
  • Self-driven and goal-oriented — you like to win and push yourself to do better.
  • Comfortable using sales software (like CRMs) and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Willing to travel regularly for work — with some overnight trips when needed.
  • Background in farming is a strong asset — whether you grew up on a farm, worked on one, or have close family ties to agriculture, that hands-on understanding helps you connect with our customers and their operations.
