Are you a BCIT Professional Sales Practicum student seeking an exciting internship opportunity? Wesgroup Equipment is a family of companies that includes Williams Machinery. As a dealer network, Wesgroup Equipment has been selling, renting, and servicing compact and heavy construction, environmental, and material handling equipment for more than 100 years across British Columbia (BC). Our Sales Practicum will allow you to gain valuable hands-on experience selling a variety of equipment such as forklifts, skid steers, excavators, and loaders. By working with us, you will get to experience servicing industries such as warehousing, milling, construction, forestry, recycling, and much more. Practicum Agenda Your practicum has been thoughtfully structured. It incorporates a comprehensive curriculum that aims to deliver a condensed yet rewarding immersion into the practical aspects of selling services and equipment in real-world scenarios. Introductory Training In your first week you will meet with the VP of Sales, Business Unit Managers, Marketing Department, and Operations for a well-rounded introduction to our business, sales process, and marketing strategies.  You will meet team members, sales coordinators, and sales representatives to learn about our sales process and products, and to review your practicum plan and goals. Work with Our Sales Representatives During your time with Wesgroup Equipment you will experience sales calls within every part of the sales cycle.  You will have the opportunity to spend time with our sales team to experience lead generation and pipeline management. You will have the opportunity to visit customers and attend sales meetings.  Depending on where the sales representatives are in the sales process, you could experience a cold call visit, a demonstration of a new JCB, Forklift, a Bobcat, or a presentation of an equipment proposal to secure a sale. Your progress will be reviewed throughout the practicum. Sales Assignments and Market Research. (Any deal that is booked with a signed order, will be compensated with a commission payout once the deal executes and we have received payment). You will develop, plan, and execute your own lead generation campaign to sell products and services. You will identify market sizes and shadow call an experienced sales representative to move your leads forward. By proactively working with the sales team, you will learn how to use Customer Relationship Systems software to execute your own campaign, promote our business and sell services or equipment. You will have the opportunity to sell our full dealership from preventative maintenance programs, rentals, new and used equipment, or attachments.  Final Assignment At the end of your practicum, you will have an opportunity to present a summary of your program experience, including project summary, leads lists, and results from your research and analysis. This will be a great opportunity to receive feedback and tips from your peers, the sales team, and sales managers. Mentorship & Feedback Throughout your practicum, you will be assigned mentors from the sales department. Your mentors will be able to provide support and assist with any questions that you may have during your time with us.
