Job description

Job Summary

Provide onsite leadership for pipefitting projects, ensuring installations meet specifications, codes, and quality standards. Coordinate crews, schedules, and resources to complete projects safely and on time.

Main Duties

  • Supervise and assign work to pipefitting crews, helpers, and subcontractors to meet project objectives.
  • Interpret blueprints, piping layouts, and technical specifications to plan installation and fabrication activities.
  • Develop and monitor project schedules, track progress, and adjust resources to meet deadlines.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and safety procedures, and conduct site safety inspections.
  • Inspect, test, and commission piping systems; identify and rectify defects or nonconforming work.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, other trades, and suppliers to secure materials and resolve technical issues.

Requirements

  • Completion of a pipefitting apprenticeship or equivalent trade certification as a journeyperson.
  • Several years of hands-on pipefitting experience with demonstrated supervisory or lead-hands responsibility.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, isometrics, P&IDs, and technical specifications.
  • Knowledge of applicable piping codes, standards, installation methods, and testing procedures.
  • Experience with inspection, pressure testing, and commissioning of piping systems and related equipment.
  • Ability to work in physically demanding environments, travel between sites as required, and adapt to variable hours.

  • Project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation
  • Practical knowledge of piping systems, fittings, and installation techniques
  • Quality control, testing, and troubleshooting of piping installations
