Become a pivotal force in community wellness as a Crisis and Wellness Coordinator for Mi’kmaw Communities. Specialize in building crisis response frameworks and enhancing mental health initiatives.
In your role, you will engage collaboratively with community leaders, health teams, and Elders to foster resilience and proactive wellness strategies across the Mi’kmaw area. Implement the Healing Through Loss Framework while supporting cultural practices and community-driven healing activities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop culturally safe crisis response strategies
• Engage with community members and coordinate resources
• Facilitate local workshops and implementation plans
• Build partnerships with regional service providers
• Monitor and report on community wellness activities
Requirements:
• Degree in Indigenous Studies, Mental Health, or related area
• 2-3 years of experience in community development
• Hands-on experience with crisis intervention methodologies
• Knowledge of L’nu culture and healing practices
• Valid driver’s license for travel within communities
Lead initiatives that support healing and resilience while honoring Mi’kmaw culture and community empowerment.
