We are searching for a Support Services Attendant to join our Vimy Court team based in Bible Hill, Nova Scotia.

Responsibilities

Dust, clean and polish furniture, counters, shelving, walls, and window / door ledges.

Clean sinks, toilets and bath facilities.

Fill and replenish supplies in resident rooms, nursing units, and rest rooms.

Empty and clean trash receptacles and dispose of trash in compactor and / or pickup area.

Sort laundry into appropriate piles based on type (linens, mops, personal clothing).

Operate washing machine using proper washing formulas.

Operate dryer and extractor; load clean, wet laundry, set dials appropriately, and unload machine.

Sort clean laundry into appropriate baskets or racks; count linens needed for each area and place on cart; name tags on resident clothing and arrange on correct rack.

Pick up soiled laundry and deliver clean laundry to resident areas within the facility using laundry carts.

Check laundry for tears, holes, missing buttons, etc., and forward clothing needing repair to the seamstress.

Qualifications

High School or GED completion.

Minimum one (1) year of experience in commercial housekeeping and / or laundry preferred.

Ability to learn and work in a fast-paced environment.

Flexibility to work a schedule of flexible hours / shifts inclusive of days, weekends, and holidays.
