Reporting to : Manager of Youth Supportive Housing

We open doors for youth and prevent adult homelessness. We serve at-risk youth experiencing homelessness, aging out of care, or fleeing violence in the home. Young adults who need a place to call home and people who believe in them. We offer safe housing, community, and support to help youth make healthy choices and shift toward a brighter future.
Position Overview :
The Youth Housing Support (YHS) position will be the primary day contact person for youth. The goal of the program is to provide housing and support for youth who are MCFD involved. The role of the day staff person is to support youth in a housing setting to settle, manage stressors and potential crisis while supporting to focus on individual goals for the following day. This position will work in a team environment utilizing a holistic approach to support each youth's individual needs around mental health, life skills, community supports, housing and other identified areas.
This position is permanent, full-time, 10-hour shifts, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and alternating Thursdays from 7 : 30am - 5 : 30pm. The wage range for this position is $26.74 - $31.00 per hour dependent on experience and related skills. The successful candidate can expect to enter the organization no higher than the midpoint of the compensation range.
Education & Experience
- A relevant bachelor's degree, such as Social Work or Child & Youth Care
- Minimum of 1-2 years' experience working with vulnerable populations and at-risk youth. Other combinations of education, experience and training may be considered
- Experience facilitating programming is an asset
- ASIST training and NVCI training is an asset
