About the Role :
This opportunity is for individuals passionate about supporting children and youth with complex behavioral needs in a group home setting. This role prioritizes personalized, trauma-informed care, allowing you to build meaningful connections with the youth you support. With guidance from a Program Supervisor, this position offers the chance to make a positive impact on young lives in a supportive and collaborative environment. Shifts are typically 8 hours, 3pm-11pm, and 7am-3pm, evenings and weekends.
Key Responsibilities :
Build trusting relationships with youth through mentorship, role modeling, and positive reinforcement
Provide supervision at home and in the community
Document daily activities and observations accurately
Contribute to individualized care plans for each youth
Complete program responsibilities such as cleaning and organization
Qualifications :
Direct experience with youth experiencing complex behavioral or mental health needs
Knowledge of child and youth mental wellness best practices
Trauma-Informed Care understanding or experience is an asset
Strong communication skills, both oral and written
Competency in technology and computer skills
Diploma / Degree in Child and Youth Care or Social Work is an asset
Additional certifications such as Suicide Prevention Training and / or Mental Health First Aid are preferred.
Mandatory Requirements :
Valid Standard First Aid with CPR Level C + AED (two-day in-person training completed)
Recent Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check (within the last 6 months)
Recent Intervention Record Check from Children’s Services (within the last 6 months)
