Reporting to the Director of Health & Wellness, the Health Manager oversees Health team operations and programming, including Community and Home Care, Chronic Disease and Diabetes and Adult-In Home Care. This role is an active community position which involves a high level of hands-on care, training and coaching, community outreach and building partnerships with clients and caregivers in the community. This position oversees department human resources related matters, training and development, program delivery and outcomes, financial revenues, and expenditures, and ensures that departments and management are in alignment with the Westbank First Nation government strategic goals.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
- Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, Public Health, Health Promotion or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- A minimum of five (5) years demonstrated experience in a Supervisory role with both people and fiscal responsibility.
- Experience collaborating with Indigenous communities including demonstrated cultural competency and knowledge of Indigenous customs and traditional practices.
- Experience in community work and collaborating with community partners in a collaborative way.
- Experience leading complex teams with passion to mentor and develop Demonstrated experience leading a team of professionals with ability to support and mentor when necessary.
- Solid knowledge of the principles, practices, and methods of program development, implementation, and evaluation.
- Knowledge / experience with EMRs and other health programs such as Meditech, Panorama, Care Connect.
