Veterinary Assistant - Martindal Animal Clinic

Do you love working with people just as much as you love working with pets? Are you someone who enjoys staying busy, building relationships, and helping a team provide exceptional care? If so, we'd love to meet you.

We are currently seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our hospital team. This position provides hands-on patient support, making it ideal for someone who enjoys variety in their day and takes pride in creating a welcoming experience for both pets and their families to our clinic located in St. Catharines, Ontario.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Veterinary Assistant, you'll play an important role in keeping our hospital running smoothly by:

  • Welcoming clients and patients with warmth, professionalism, and compassion
  • Coordinating appointments and managing client communications by phone and email
  • Maintaining accurate medical records and client information
  • Assisting veterinarians and RVTs with patient care, treatments, and examinations
  • Supporting diagnostic and treatment procedures as directed by the medical team
  • Ensuring treatment, exam, and kennel areas remain clean, organized, and well-stocked
  • Providing pet owners with guidance on home care instructions and preventive healthcare recommendations
  • Helping create a positive experience for every client and patient who walks through our doors
What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • Previous experience in a veterinary clinic, animal care environment, or customer service role
  • A genuine passion for animal health and client care
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • The ability to prioritize tasks and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • A collaborative, team-first mindset
  • Familiarity with veterinary software, is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of veterinary terminology and basic clinical procedures is beneficial but not required
