Job description

Position Summary

The Northside Community Guest Home is partnering with CBBC Career College to offer a paid Continuing Care Assistant (CCA) Training Program.

This program is designed for individuals who are interested in starting a rewarding career in long-term care. No prior healthcare experience is required. We are looking for compassionate, dependable individuals who are eager to learn and make a positive difference in the lives of others.

Successful applicants will participate in a paid 25-week CCA education program through CBBC, combining online learning with in-person labs to develop the knowledge and skills needed to become a Continuing Care Assistant.

Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will transition into a guaranteed 0.7 FTE Continuing Care Assistant position at Northside Community Guest Home, subject to all program requirements.

Candidate Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Have reliable transportation
  • Canadian or Permanent Resident of Canada who currently resides in Nova Scotia
  • Successfully complete the program
  • Sign a Return of Service Agreement
  • Successfully complete all required pre-employment requirements including providing a criminal record check with a vulnerable sector check
  • Demonstrate compassion, professionalism, and a commitment to resident-centred care
