ABOUT THIS CAREER OPPORTUNITY
Black & McDonald's Utilities team is growing! If you are committed and collaborative professional looking to contribute to a hard-working, innovative team, this opportunity is for you.
Based in Edmonton, and reporting to a Foreman, the Utility Gas Fuser performs fusions on gas pipe and provides a full installation cycle of gas facilities, such as, but not limited to, the following : install and complete all main line connections, including fittings, installing all service punch tees, competing tracer wire connections, and pressure testing completed main. In addition, the Utility Gas Fuser is responsible for submitting test documentation and ensuring proper documentation for as-builts. The Utility Gas Fuser will provide support to crews installing gas mains, tracer wires, and placing them online.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Measure and stake the gas line in the proper locations
- Ensure that all tees are installed and tested, & tracer wire installed and staked correctly
- Ensure that all deviations from line assignment, changes in fitting location, or requirements are documented for as-built records
- Complete all required pressure testing of ATCO and / or Apex Utilities facilities and submit all approved test documentation at the end of the project; communicate with ATCO and / or Apex Utilities inspectors on-site
- Load, unload, and move construction materials around the worksite, ensuring the worksite is organized and free of clutter, rubble, and garbage
