Under the direction of the Director of Operations, the Production Planning Associate is a key role responsible for production planning and inventory management to meet customer needs while optimizing operational efficiency. Acting as a crucial link between the sales, production, and procurement departments, this role ensures proactive supply chain management, minimizes stockouts, and optimizes costs.

Responsibilities
Production Planning
Analyze, design, and plan weekly production schedules based on customer orders, sales forecasts, and raw material availability to meet customer needs in a resource optimization context (capacity, delivery time, costs), in collaboration with the production manager and the management team.
Continuously update the production schedule based on the previous day's production, shipments, receipts, changes in customer orders, and raw material availability.
Confirm and correct the quantity of finished goods produced the previous day.
Identify potential capacity constraints and recommend solutions to mitigate risks in collaboration with the production team.
Support the production team with real-time data for effective decision-making.
Purchasing
Place purchase orders (PO) with Canadian suppliers based on the production schedule and sales forecasts.
Follow up on purchase orders (delivery dates, quantities, shortages).
Inventory Management
Monitor inventory levels to avoid overstocking or stockouts while maintaining optimal stock levels for raw materials and finished goods. Update minimum stock levels and reorder points.
Implement inventory control strategies to improve turnover rates and reduce carrying costs.
Work with domestic suppliers and the procurement team (for imported products) to ensure timely delivery of materials.
Work with the inventory counting team to resolve and correct errors in assemblies, receipts, and transfers.
Plan and manage inter-warehouse transfers of materials.
Data Analysis and Reporting
Interpret reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as inventory turnover, and products close to expiry.
Provide insights and recommendations to management based on data-driven analysis.
Cross-functional Collaboration
Act as the main point of contact between the operations, sales, and procurement teams for planning-related activities.
Lead meetings to review supplier performance evaluations, production plans, and inventory performance.
Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to incorporate new product launches, promotions, and demand fluctuations.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
3 years of experience in demand planning, supply chain management, or production planning, preferably in the food manufacturing industry.
Proficiency in forecasting and planning tools (e.g., Sage 300, SAP, Oracle, or other ERP systems).
Strong analytical skills (advanced Excel) and experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, SEI).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with cross-functional teams.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications
Expertise in packaging lines and equipment.
Proficiency in computer tools and software.
Experience with SAP or other ERPs.

Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in sciences, DEC in production, or approximately 10 years of relevant experience.
CPIM certification (a plus).
Experience in the pharmaceutical industry under cGMP regulations.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain management.
