The Role
Under executive direction, develop and maintain profitable relationships with Labour Organizations; market products and services, establish policies and procedures for dealing with union organizations, negotiate new and existing account agreements; manage the overall Labour Organizations deposit and loan portfolio; assist with the set‑up of Pre‑Authorized Payment / Deposit System procedures for corporate clients; prepare the departmental budget; and perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of the structure, philosophy and protocol of unions, and the ability to utilize this knowledge to build the union base.
- Knowledge of and ability to present successfully and sell a full range of Credit Union products and services to current and prospective members.
- Knowledge of and ability to sell Registered Retirement products including setting up and administering group plans.
- Knowledge of credit union operations, including financial, lending, administrative, and other operational procedures, practices and requirements.
- Knowledge of principles, practices, methods, techniques of business development and marketing credit union services, including corporate client on‑line Pre‑Authorized Deposit and Debit via Customer Automated Funds Transfer System (CAFT) and internet access.
- Knowledge of and ability to operate in a computerized environment.
- Ability to work without supervision and to be on call during non‑office hours.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts and to provide advice and assistance on matters related to work.
- Ability to communicate effectively and to present information in an understandable format.
- Ability to cross‑train credit union staff in dealing with Labour Organizations and their members.
- Skilled in effective communication.
- Skilled in presentations using PowerPoint.
