Job description
- Education: Degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine or optometry
- Experience: 5 years or more
- Veterinary medicine (DVM)
- Veterinary sciences/veterinary clinical sciences, general (Cert., MS, MSc, PhD)
- Diagnostic radiology residency programs
- Diagnose diseases or abnormal conditions in individual animals, herds and flocks through physical examinations or laboratory tests
- Treat sick or injured animals by prescribing medication, setting bones, dressing wounds or performing surgery
- Advise clients on feeding, housing, behaviour, breeding, hygiene and general care of animals
- Provide a range of veterinary services including obstetrics, dentistry and euthanasia
- Operate electrocardiographs, cardiac ultrasound and other electronic equipment
- Operate computerized tomography (CT) scanners
- Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities
- Diagnostic radiology
