Summary of the role
In conjunction with the Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging (CLSA), the Bruyère Health Research Institute is seeking an X-ray Technologist to help collect bone density data. The CLSA is a Canada-wide study that looks at health and aging over a 20-year period. This is a wonderful opportunity for anyone excited by the idea of contributing to research on aging through a range of responsibilities involving training on ECG and ultrasound equipment.
Our research teams are dedicated to advancing our understanding of health and aging, with the ultimate goal of improving the quality of life for aging populations and those who require continuing care.
We are seeking an X-ray Technologist to assist the Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging (CLSA) at the Bruyère Health Research Institute (Bruyère Health RI). The CLSA is a Canada-wide study that looks at health and aging over a 20-year period. The X-ray Technologist joining the CLSA team will contribute to health research by collecting data from older adults using a bone densitometer. The successful applicant will also receive training on ultrasound, ECG, and other equipment used by the CLSA.

Taking physical measurements through the operation of a bone densitometer
Other Research Support
Additional duties may be added as projects progress
Required Qualifications
Position requires contact with an aging population who may have medical illnesses and may require special attention. The successful candidate must exhibit compassion and be alert to participants’ needs.
Bruyère and its Research Institute are fully affiliated with the University of Ottawa, and have other regional academic, government, NGO, and industry partners engaged in collaborative research and innovation initiatives. Our research priorities include Aging and Long-Term Care, Palliative Care, Rehabilitation and Recovery, and Social Accountability (encompassing Primary Care and Health Equity).
