Position Summary
Valnet's sister company, VREC, is currently searching for a Maintenance Associate. The Maintenance Associate is responsible for ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of a 6‑floor commercial building, including all common areas, mechanical spaces, exterior grounds, and parking facilities. The role combines hands‑on maintenance duties with concierge‑level support, ensuring tenants and visitors experience a clean, functional, and well‑managed environment.
Location & Hours
Location : Montreal (on‑site)
Hours : Full‑time permanent (40 hours per week)
Key Responsibilities
- Building Maintenance & Operations
- Perform daily inspections of floors, common areas, stairwells, elevators, and mechanical rooms
- Conduct basic repairs (plumbing, electrical, lighting, painting, door hardware)
- Monitor HVAC systems and report irregularities
- Ensure access systems, locks, and security features are functioning properly
- Exterior & Parking Areas
- Inspect building perimeter, landscaping, and loading docks
- Maintain parking areas; remove debris and monitor lighting
- Coordinate snow removal and seasonal outdoor maintenance
- Tenant & Visitor Support
- Act as a professional point of contact for tenants
- Respond to maintenance requests promptly
- Assist with contractor access and deliveries
- Preventive Maintenance & Safety
- Perform scheduled maintenance tasks
- Maintain inspection logs
- Report or correct safety hazards immediately; assist during fire alarms and emergencies
- Vendor & Contractor Coordination
- Escort contractors and supervise work zones
- Communicate progress or delays to management
- Cleaning Support (Light Duties)
- Spot cleaning, replacing consumables, managing waste bins as needed
