Treasury accountant Jobs in Brampton, ON

We are looking for an Intermediate Accountant to join our team in Mississauga, Ontario. In this role, you will play a key part in managing financial transactions, ensuring accurate reporting, and supporting project budgets. Your work will contribute to maintaining cost control and overall financial stability across various projects.

Responsibilities :

• Match vendor invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Accurately code invoices to appropriate jobs, cost codes, and general ledger accounts.
• Set up new vendors and subcontractors with necessary payment terms and compliance documentation.
• Process payments, including cheque runs and wire transfers, while maintaining detailed records.
• Prepare and issue monthly progress billings based on project completion percentages and contract terms.
• Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on overdue payments to ensure timely collection.
• Administer weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees, verifying timecards and applying correct allocations.
• Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare year-end documentation such as T4s and ROEs.
• Support monthly and year-end closing activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Minimum 2-4 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles, preferably in construction or skilled trades.
• Proficiency in job costing systems and project-based accounting practices.
• Experience with unionized payroll and collective agreements is an asset.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks within strict deadlines.
• Familiarity with Sage 100 or similar accounting software.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve discrepancies.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information securely.
