JomboneMoncton, New BrunswickThe Role : As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Orthopedic Unit, you will deliver specialized care to patients with musculoskeletal injuries, orthopedic conditions, or those recovering from orthopedic surgeries. You will support patients throughout the treatment and recovery process, ensuring optimal outcomes and a compassionate approach.
Responsibilities :
Assist in the assessment and planning of care for orthopedic patients, including those with fractures, joint replacements, and spinal conditions.
Monitor and document patient vital signs, pain levels, mobility, and response to treatment, ensuring high-quality, safe care.
Provide post-operative care, including wound care, pain management, and monitoring for potential complications, such as infections or thrombosis.
Educate patients and their families on post-surgical care, physical therapy exercises, and injury prevention techniques.
Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a comprehensive and effective care plan.
Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe environment for both patients and staff.
Participate in patient preparation and assessment for orthopedic procedures, ensuring readiness and comfort.
Requirements :
Current, unrestricted RN license in your province.
Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in Canada, preferably in an orthopedic or surgical setting.
ACLS and BLS Certifications.
Strong knowledge of orthopedic care practices, including musculoskeletal anatomy, injury management, and post-operative rehabilitation.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.
Dedication to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
- Fluent in English and French.
