Bayshore Medical Personnel is actively searching for a highly motivated Full-Time Mental Health Registered Nurse with three (3) years of experience to join our team in Ottawa, ON.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Nurse seeking a Monday - Friday career with day shifts only ( no nights, no weekends ), and who is ready for a rewarding challenge working with a unique patient population.
Our Mental Health Nurses (MHNs) provide mental health services in a primary health care setting. They are responsible for assessment, nursing diagnosis, development and implementation of care plans, crisis intervention, counseling, and life skills programming.
An important aspect of this role involves providing counseling services in individual and / or group therapy sessions using CBT, DVT, or motivational interviewing techniques. Candidates should also be skilled in bio-psychosocial assessments and medication management from both inpatient and outpatient perspectives.
Education / Qualifications :
- All Nurses - Mental Health must be Registered Nurses or Registered Psychiatric Nurses.
- Registered Nurses must possess :
- A Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from a recognized college or university with either a certificate in Mental Health Nursing or certification in Psychiatric / Mental Health Nursing from the Canadian Nurses Association (CNA);
- A Registered Nurse license from the provincial or territorial professional college or association in the province of practice;
- Certificate of Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers or equivalent such as Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) / Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Level C. Annual recertification is required.
