Job description
We are hiring an afternoon City Dispatcher for a large Transportation company located in the Brampton area.
Salary : $50,000-55,000 / year based on experience
Schedule : Afternoon shift Monday-Friday
Responsibilities :
- Coordinating / scheduling / dispatching city drivers according to customer requirements (trucks, straight trucks, and owner operators)
- Monitoring driver routes to ensure timely delivery of freight
- Determining routing problems and resolving issues ASAP
- Recording mileage, fuel use and repairs
- Acting as the liaison between company drivers and customers
- Communicating with drivers during trips to ensure smooth delivery of freight
- Ensuring drivers have all necessary paperwork before dispatching to client sites, including alternate routes or special instructions for delivery
- Other duties as required
Qualifications :
- Previous experience in a Dispatching role within the Transportation / Logistics industry
- Strong knowledge of the GTA
- Able to work independently
- Strong customer service skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Comfortable with drivers / driver paperwork
- Able to work full-time on the afternoon shift
