Job description

We are hiring an afternoon City Dispatcher for a large Transportation company located in the Brampton area.

Salary : $50,000-55,000 / year based on experience

Schedule : Afternoon shift Monday-Friday

Responsibilities :

Coordinating / scheduling / dispatching city drivers according to customer requirements (trucks, straight trucks, and owner operators)
Monitoring driver routes to ensure timely delivery of freight
Determining routing problems and resolving issues ASAP
Recording mileage, fuel use and repairs
Acting as the liaison between company drivers and customers
Communicating with drivers during trips to ensure smooth delivery of freight
Ensuring drivers have all necessary paperwork before dispatching to client sites, including alternate routes or special instructions for delivery
Other duties as required

Qualifications :

Previous experience in a Dispatching role within the Transportation / Logistics industry
Strong knowledge of the GTA
Able to work independently
Strong customer service skills
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Comfortable with drivers / driver paperwork
Able to work full-time on the afternoon shift
