Job descriptionDiagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues in commercial trucks, including engines, transmissions, and braking systems, using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques Perform repairs and preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the safety, reliability, and efficiency of commercial trucks, including engine overhauls, brake adjustments, and suspension repairs Replace faulty components with genuine or compatible parts to maintain the functionality and performance of commercial trucks Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and parts used to comply with regulatory requirements and facilitate efficient workflow Collaborate with team members to prioritize tasks, share knowledge, and deliver exceptional customer service to fleet managers, drivers, and other stakeholders Heavy Duty Mechanic Journeyman Certificate, red seal preferred Heavy Duty Truck and Trailer Technician Certificate, red seal preferred BC Class 5 driver's license (Class 3 with air brakes or Class 1 is considered an asset) Must have own tools (required tool list will be provided) Mechanically inclined with a strong aptitude for diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance Self-starter able to work in a fast-paced, detailed, and process-driven environment Ability to work in a physical capacity including heavy lifting and using tools throughout the shift Use of computerized scanning equipment, able to use digital technology / mechanical software
