Job descriptionA diploma, degree, or certificate in a relevant discipline of wood processing, computer science, computer information technology, journeyman electrician, or other relevant experience. A valid driver’s license (class 5 or 7). The ability to travel within the US and Canada. (40%) Understanding of the sawmill and wood processing industry Knowledge of lumber grading rules and the grading process Experience configuring computer hardware and software. Practical expertise in troubleshooting of computer, network, and electrical systems (including wiring) Experience with Windows operating systems, including work with IIS, firewall, and networking. Familiarity with Microsoft Office
Intermediate Field Service Technician / Optimization Specialist
As a Field Service Technician, you would work closely with the engineering and development team to test and configure custom systems. You would interact with customers and provide technical support relating to all aspects of our products, both in person and remotely. You can look forward to :
- Become proficient in the delivery of geometric and auto grading scanners.
- Configure systems to customers’ specifications to achieve desired quality outcomes.
- Fielding calls from customers to trouble shoot system issues on site and remotely.
- Test new software releases and provide feedback to the development team.
- Assist with installation and mounting sensors and related wiring.
- Commission new scanner installations and conduct performance acceptance tests.
- Training customers on site or at office.
- Construct and maintain training documentation.
