Responsibilities
PRIMARY PURPOSE
Apply advanced engineering expertise to ensure safe and efficient rail services, ensuring compliance, safety, and reliability through analysis, standards development, and innovative recommendations. Investigate failures, manage assets, and represent BCRTC to stakeholders, fostering positive organizational change and engineering practices.
Key Accountabilities
- Support compliance strategies and system assurance.
- Develop technical requirements for asset management and maintenance to ensure reliability and safety.
- Lead safety assurance, hazard identification, RAM analysis, and hazard log management.
- Provide engineering analysis for maintenance and renewal plans, budgets.
- Develop standards, policies, procedures for asset maintenance and projects.
- Offer innovative engineering solutions for safety, quality, and performance.
- Investigate failures and develop reliable solutions.
- Implement new engineering techniques and technologies.
- Approve technical aspects of high-risk projects and create specifications and drawings.
- Represent BCRTC engineering internally and externally.
- Manage asset configuration throughout its lifecycle.
- Build partnerships and foster responsive stakeholder interactions.
- Present technical risks and recommendations to executives.
- Provide mentorship, lead organizational change, promote inclusivity and team cohesion.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Degree in Engineering or related discipline, registered as a Professional Engineer with EGBC, plus 10 years of senior engineering experience, preferably in railway infrastructure or systems.
Other Requirements
Additional Information
Recruitment involves demonstrating qualifications through interviews. The work schedule is 37.5 hours / week, primarily on-site. Salary ranges from $107,200 to $160,800 annually, based on experience and qualifications, including a comprehensive benefits package.
