Job description
We are seeking a highly accomplished Senior Technology Architect to lead the solution design, architectural governance, and system integration of complex cloud native and hybrid cloud environments. In this role, you will architect secure, scalable, and resilient enterprise solutions on Microsoft Azure, bridging modern cloud services (PaaS, SaaS) with existing on-premises systems and COTS platforms. Working across multi-disciplinary teams, executive steering committees, and external vendors, you will conduct option analyses, enforce data security standards, optimize system performance, and guide hybrid-Agile implementations.

Location: North York, ON (Fully Onsite)

Duration: 8-month contract

Advantages
Enterprise Azure Scope: Drive high-visibility architecture strategy across Microsoft Azure's complete PaaS, SaaS, compute, and data suites.

Hybrid Cloud Leadership: Lead complex cross-platform integrations connecting modern cloud environments with core enterprise databases.

Strategic Executive Influence: Present technical options, risk mitigations, and architectural recommendations directly to leadership.

Onsite Collaboration: Partner directly with multidisciplinary engineering and leadership teams in a structured, focused workspace.

Responsibilities
Cloud & Hybrid Architecture Design: Architect end-to-end cloud native and hybrid cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure, integrating SaaS, PaaS, and on-premises environments.

Database & Data Platform Modeling: Oversee database modeling, schema design, PL/SQL development, and performance tuning across relational, unstructured, and cloud data platforms.

Integration & API Management: Design secure integration patterns using RESTful APIs, Azure API Management, Azure App Gateway, and middleware connections to legacy backends and COTS platforms.

Security, Identity & Governance: Implement robust Azure identity, governance, monitoring, and security controls, architecting risk mitigation strategies for high-sensitivity data assets.

Performance & Cost Optimization: Evaluate Azure resources to optimize execution performance, system scalability, and cloud infrastructure costs.

Technical Research & Advisory: Conduct technical research, option analyses, and feasibility assessments to deliver strategic architecture recommendations to senior leadership.

Stakeholder & Vendor Collaboration: Facilitate Agile requirement-gathering sessions and collaborate closely with security, privacy, enterprise architecture, and vendor teams.

Agile Architectural Governance: Support project execution under a hybrid-Agile delivery model, ensuring alignment with enterprise IT standards and architectural guidelines.

Qualifications
Microsoft Azure Architecture: Minimum 7 years of experience using Microsoft Azure to design and implement solutions leveraging cloud native services and modern architectural patterns (Strictly Required).

SaaS/PaaS & Hybrid Cloud Integration: Minimum 7 years of implementation experience with SaaS and PaaS cloud offerings, including hybrid cloud integration between cloud and on-premises systems (Strictly Required).

Database & PL/SQL Seniority: Minimum 15 years of experience with industry-standard databases, encompassing database design, data modeling, PL/SQL development, system tuning, and administration (Strictly Required).

Security & Risk Mitigation: Minimum 7 years of experience evaluating risk mitigation strategies and architecting cloud solutions for high-sensitivity data assets (Strictly Required).

Hybrid Interoperability: Minimum 7 years of experience using cloud-based assets to build interoperability and integration solutions within hybrid cloud environments (Strictly Required).

Azure Service Suite Proficiency: Hands-on design experience with Azure services including Azure VMs, Azure SQL Server, Data Lake, Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Cosmos DB, Functions, ARM, and Azure DevOps.

Desirable Assets:
Technical experience with enterprise COTS products (such as Siebel CRM, Oracle Customer Hub, Oracle Policy Automation, and Oracle DBMS).
