Reporting to the Director, Communications & Marketing, the Communications Specialist (Senior Content Strategist & Writer) is a key member of this dynamic team. You are an integral part of telling the Crofton House story and responsible for organizing, writing and delivering content for various channels to both internal and external audiences. In addition, you will support the Communications Manager with email communications and to ensure the Crofton House website is dynamic and up-to-date. T his role has an opportunity to participate in our Flexible / Remote work plan (up to two days per week). Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities : ? Support the delivery of high-quality, strategic and engaging content across the organization, from original storytelling in magazines and blogs, to web and social media content and marketing copy, and succinct operational communications ? Assist with the development of the annual communications plan to support the strategic direction and priorities of the School ? Support the School�s social media channels by creating relevant, high-quality content related to target audiences and including student voice; overseeing the development and implementation of a social media strategy and calendar ? Support email communications and newsletter creation using email platform and HTML templates ? Develop and maintain content for the school website, ensuring it aligns with strategic priorities of the school and current offerings ? Support content placement on the website using WordPress and standard HTML / CSS practices ? Support internal and external communication, marketing, and other related projects for internal and external audiences, working with the Communications & Marketing Director and Manager ? Other duties assigned as required Minimum Qualifications : ? B.A. or Diploma in Journalism, Communications, English or equivalent ? Minimum of five years of progressively related experience in the field of communications, journalism, or marketing Skills / Competences : ? Excellent writing and copy editing skills, with the ability to write persuasive, engaging content adapted across a wide variety of platforms and media ? Passion for storytelling and developing creative content and interview-based articles ? Ability to conduct independent research and gather background material to inform content development and collaborate with other areas of the school to develop content and stories ? Refine and implement a consistent brand voice and tone - ensuring all written materials meet industry standards (CP Style guidelines) and CHS style guide, and integrate consistent messaging ? Ability to clearly communicate complex information using plain and relatable language ? Ability to fact-check and proofread materials for grammatical and material accuracy ? Ability to work closely with internal and external partners in planning and implementing communication strategies, providing communications advice, and facilitating problem-solving ? Ability to balance multiple priorities, and prioritize and deliver projects on deadlines ? Demonstrated track record of writing ability and high-quality communications work ? Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to build relationships with students, staff, parents and wider CHS community ? Proactive and flexible, self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team ? Strong working knowledge and proven ability to work effectively with social media platforms ? Ability to use sound judgement, tact and discretion in dealing with sensitive or confidential issues ? Experience with Google suite and Mac computers ? Experience in the use of Content Management System, HTML, CSS and email campaign systems Employment and Application Details : This role is scheduled to start in mid-August. Employees of Crofton House School receive competitive compensation and support for professional, educational and leadership development.
