As the province’s largest energy provider with more than 100 years of knowledge and experience, we proudly deliver renewable energy, natural gas, electricity and propane to 1.3 million customers.

We're actively seeking new talent to join our mission of delivering a stronger energy future in B.C. As one of BC's Top Employers with a diverse team of over 2,700 employees, we are committed to a safe and inclusive culture where each of us can connect, belong, and grow. Join us, and together, let's shape a brighter future for B.C.

Position Overview

You enjoy collaborating alongside various teams and individuals to bring new programs to life. You’re all about shaking things up and finding innovative ways to improve processes and drive business forward.

As a Program Manager, you will build and support external and internal project teams to help plan and execute programs to completion. Reporting to the Contracts Manager, you’ll work within deadlines to achieve program objectives while challenging business practices to improve processes.

In this role, you will:

  • Collaborate across various teams to oversee and execute a variety of programs within the project management office (PMO). You’ll focus on scope management, cost control, reporting, and timely delivery.
  • Maintain fiscal responsibility by working within budgets and deadlines, while continuously looking for ways to improve business processes.
  • Ensure key stakeholders are informed by identifing and effectively communicating any changes to the program.
  • Coordinate and assign resources to positively impact programs.

Programs managed by the PMO may support capital or Operations and Maintenance portfolios, as required. Our program managers are responsible for the growth capital program, distribution mains renewals program, joint trenching, vertical subdivisions, bridge inspection and maintenance, and contracted services to support the PMO project managers and operations groups.

What it takes:

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline from an accredited university, plus a minimum of four to seven years of recent and related experience in project management and field construction.
  • An equivalent combination of education, related training, and experience may be considered.
  • Strong knowledge of contract negotiations, resource planning, and project management processes and permitting
  • Exceptional organizational, time management, and analytical skills, with a proven ability to multi-task and meet deadlines and related cost objectives.
  • Proficiency in report writing and associated project management tools (Microsoft Excel, Work, and Project as well as Primavera).

Our engaging workplace offers a wide range of challenging opportunities, while being safe, inclusive, and diverse. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, while supporting life-long career development. We also encourage volunteerism and nourish the need to give back to your community.
